The Man in the Middle
All of the evil tyrants or villains in history, movies, and books have always had a second in command,
There is one person, in particular, a front desk worker who shall not be named. We shall refer to him as The Man in the Middle. Now, The Man in the Middle is a very special case indeed, because unlike the other staff members of Apex he is still a high school student. The Man in the Middle has worked his way up in the Apex Academy hierarchy landing a secure position as a front desk worker. He has gone through three main phases while making the treacherous climb.
1. The Ally Phase
2. The Unpaid Intern Phase
3. The Front Desk Worker/Tutor Phase
When I first joined Apex Academy last January, The Man in the Middle was in the ally phase. As a fellow sufferer, he introduced me to the other students and helped me with some math homework. It was great. Almost too good to be true. As an ally, we worked together on homework often, even going out on the weekends to study with Hi-Chew, another Apex Academy student who shall not be named. However, as the school year came to a close, Hi-Chew and I saw firsthand as The Man the Middle entered the demonic Unpaid Intern Phase.
The final ultimate phase began recently, at the start of the school year. The Front Desk Worker/Tutor Phase. Now you must understand that Apex Academy is a very draining place to work at. But by this point, The Man in the Middle was conditioned, it was like he was built for work at Apex. Teacher Ben even had him bring a sleeping bag, so he could take power naps in between work. In addition, Teacher Ben started paying The Man in the Middle during this time period. The combination of the brainwashing during the summer along with the tiny paycheck he received each week was enough to turn The Man in the Middle into a miniature Teacher Ben. Along with a slight personality change, The Man in the Middle has also begun looking like Teacher Ben. White hairs have started popping up in his hair along with a receding hairline, something no teenager should have.

The Unpaid Intern Phase came along with SAT classes that summer. After being banned from hanging out with his friends over the summer, The Man in the Middle was trapped at Apex. When asked, The Man in the Middle even admitted to spending more time at Apex than at home. After being imprisoned at Apex for many hours during the summer, The Man in the Middle went through a metamorphosis. Although he was still my good friend, he started snitching on us more often and began exhibiting Teacher Ben like behavior. However, this was just the beginning, as the brainwashing phase still hadn't hit its peak.
